“Regitra” issues two types of international driving licences. These amount to additional documents alongside the national driving licence. The aforementioned documents are necessary for drivers travelling to and driving motor vehicles in foreign countries that are not part of the European Union (EU) or European Economic Area (EEA).
“Regitra” issues two types of international driving licences these are as follows:
1. Valid within countries that are part of the Vienna Convention (see third column: Accession(a), Succession(d), Ratification).
Driving licences of such type are valid as long as your national driving licence is valid but no longer than 3 years.
2. Valid within countries that are part of the Geneva Convention (see third column: Accession(a), Succession(d), Ratification).
The validity period of the aforementioned driving licence is 1 year.
If you are travelling to one of the countries that are part of the Vienna or Geneva Convention, you will be required to present an international driving licence that is compliant with the requirements of the applicable Convention. If you are travelling to a country that is part of both the Vienna and Geneva Conventions, we recommend you to order the international driving licence compliant with the requirements applicable to the Vienna Convention.
